Join Our Team:

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Experience Management crew at Disney Entertainment and ESPN Technology. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in constructing and maintaining the metadata and work platform for Disney+, ESPN+, and other streaming services.

About the Role:

As a Software Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for building high-performance, stable, and scalable software systems to be deployed in an organization setting. You will work collaboratively with a team of engineers to design, develop, and implement software solutions that meet the needs of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to design, develop, and implement software solutions
  • Build high-performance, stable, and scalable software systems to be deployed in an organization setting
  • Participate in high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions
  • Participate in code review by providing comments on pull requests
  • Participate in on-call rotation, assisting systems and services during production incidents

Requirements:

  • Self-learner, independent, and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and programming languages
  • Experience with one programming language, ideally Java or Typescript, C++, or JavaScript
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Understanding of RESTful services
  • Understanding of data storage technology (SQL and/or NoSQL)
  • Exposure to build and deployment tools such as Jenkins and Docker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or similar field of study, and/or equivalent work experience
