Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Review and process mental health patient claims for accuracy and compliance with insurance guidelines
• Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment
• Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts
• Resolve billing discrepancies in a prompt manner
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records
• Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure timely payment of claims
• Stay current on changes in mental health billing regulations and guidelines
• Stay current on replying to emails from insurance companies and therapists

Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a mental health setting
• Knowledge of mental health billing codes (CPT, ICD-10) and insurance guidelines
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications
