As an Engineering Manager II for the Employer Revenue team, you will lead and empower a talented group of engineers to build and scale products that drive revenue growth for our employer partners. Your leadership will directly influence how employers connect with early talent, fueling Handshake’s continued growth and impact.

Your role

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of software engineers focused on employer-facing, revenue-generating products.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, and Go-to-Market teams to define and execute on the Employer Revenue roadmap.

  • Drive technical excellence and operational rigor, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable systems.

  • Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and support career growth for your team members.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and translate them into actionable engineering initiatives.

  • Balance short-term business needs with long-term technical vision, ensuring alignment with Handshake’s goals.

  • Contribute to strategic planning and help shape the future direction of Handshake’s employer platform.

Your experience

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, ideally in a SaaS or B2B environment.

  • 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a strong background in building scalable web applications.

  • Proven track record of delivering revenue-generating products or platforms.

  • Experience working closely with Product, Design, and Business teams.

  • Strong technical acumen; bonus for experience with Ruby on Rails, React, or similar frameworks.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

  • Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent.

  • Experience in the recruiting, hiring, or HR tech space is a plus.
