Solutions Architect (Java, Oracle)

Model N is seeking an experienced and innovative Solution Architect to join our Global Services team. The right candidate must be exceptionally strong and experienced as a technical consultant. As a key member of the architecture function, you will be responsible for designing scalable, high-performing, and secure solutions tailored to our global clients’ needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including sales, delivery, product, and engineering—to ensure solutions align with business goals and technical standards. As a member of the LS PS, the candidate will lead groups of consultants to customize, implement, and deploy Model N applications. In addition to proven expertise in implementation of enterprise-class software packages (based on Java, SQL, Web-based software technology), the successful candidate must possess strong customer focus and be able to take ownership of the planning and execution of multiple projects or work streams simultaneously.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with global clients and internal stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements.
  • Lead technical workshops, discovery sessions, and architecture reviews.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, including solution blueprints, data flows, and integration diagrams.
  • Provide technical leadership to the development team(s) and work with the teams to translate software architecture into design.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, guiding best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Coordinate and work with technical counterparts from SI partners and Customer teams.
  • Work with delivery teams to ensure successful implementation and transition of solutions.
  • Partner with other teams (vertical, or geographies) to share and practice best practices, overall architecture, standards & frameworks.
  • This is an individual contributor role, with hands-on technical delivery. There will be components of mentoring/coaching, team members
  • Job Qualification

  • 10+ years experience in software development & delivery of enterprise software implementations using Java/J2EE technologies, with at least 2 years of experience in a Solution Architect role.
  • Strong experience with J2EE deployments, particularly on Websphere and Weblogic. Solid experience with Unix, Linux MS Windows Server operating systems.
  • Strong experience with Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, Java Stored Procedures. SQL Optimization, performance tuning highly desired
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), integration frameworks, and enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, etc.).
  • Experience in all aspects of software development life cycle; emphasis on applying formal methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with enterprise software (SAP, Siebel, Oracle, etc.) implementations is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively change design and development approaches as the business requirements dictate
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment and effectively meet project deliverables on time
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Documentation Skills (will cover all of MS office)
  • Working with and adapting to diversity (e.g. Cultural Diversity) 
  • BTech/BE or MTech/Me in computer science or related discipline.
