About the Role

The Head of People Operations is at the forefront of Sky Mavis’ efforts to enable the sustainable and scalable growth of our global team. You’ll be an architect and builder leading the design and implementation of the programs, systems, and cultural foundations that support employees at every stage of their journey.

You’ll partner closely with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive org-wide change, evolve our people infrastructure, and ensure that we’re delivering world-class employee experiences. You’ll also serve as a strategic thought partner to the C-suite, offering a clear perspective, challenging assumptions, and helping to shape key decisions that impact the business.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role that spans teams across multiple continents. You’ll need to toggle between strategy, hands-on training, and execution in a fast-changing environment.

What You’ll Own
  • Build and lead a world-class People team across regions and time zones.

  • Develop and execute our strategic workforce plan, ensuring we support, retain, and grow top-tier talent.

  • Lead day-to-day HR operations, including payroll, benefits, and compliance (in coordination with Legal).

  • Oversee the roadmap and implementation of people-related programs and policies, including onboarding, learning and development, performance management, leveling, benefits, leave management, immigration, labor compliance, and HR systems.

  • Drive organizational design to ensure flexibility, resilience, and high-velocity execution.

  • Embed scalable performance and development frameworks that align with business outcomes.

  • Partner with leaders across functions to execute change management and org-wide transformation initiatives.

  • Serve as a culture and values champion, shaping Sky Mavis’ internal voice and external employer brand.

  • Monitor employment laws and compliance across global jurisdictions and proactively manage risk.

What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive HR/People leadership experience in high-growth environments.

  • Proven ability to build and scale HR systems, programs, and org design strategies from scratch.

  • Experience managing globally distributed teams across time zones and cultures.

  • Deep knowledge of HR operations, performance, org design, and compliance.

  • Strong communicator who’s comfortable debating, influencing, and aligning with C-suite stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with Web3, gaming, or emerging tech sectors is a strong plus.

  • High-integrity, low-ego leadership style and a strong belief in building systems that empower others.
