About the position As a Retail Department Coordinator at Marshalls, you will play a crucial role in orchestrating the delivery of merchandise and ensuring that products are efficiently processed onto the sales floor. This position requires a proactive approach to managing the flow of goods, training and mentoring associates, and maintaining high standards of merchandising and organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, which is essential for maintaining the store's operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. In this role, you will communicate regularly with the Coordinator on Duty to facilitate the efficient flow of goods to the sales floor. You will also monitor the productivity of your team, providing coaching and support as necessary to ensure that all associates complete their tasks according to the store plan. Your ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively will be key to your success in this position. Additionally, you will uphold the store's merchandising philosophy and signage standards, ensuring that the backroom area is organized, clean, and compliant with recycling and hazardous waste programs. Your communication skills will be vital as you provide progress updates to management and collaborate with them on training needs for associates. You will also promote safety awareness and maintain a safe working environment for all staff. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, as you may need to work nights and weekends. You will be expected to respond appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations, demonstrating your ability to adapt in a fast-paced retail environment. Your leadership experience will be beneficial as you train others and contribute to the overall success of the store.
