Sales & Marketing Product Attorney

About the position GEICO is seeking an experienced legal professional to serve as a legal advisor for the sales and marketing departments. The role involves providing legal support to enhance the business's efforts in selling insurance by understanding the company's products, goals, and plans, and advising on legal requirements in a business-friendly manner. The advisor will collaborate with other attorneys and coordinate specialized legal expertise as needed to ensure the business unit's success. Responsibilities • Provide legal advice and propose solutions for issues related to sales and marketing under general supervision. , • Advise on business plans and anticipate future legal needs. , • Coordinate support for assigned sales and marketing initiatives with the legal team and other departments. , • Utilize a wide range of legal knowledge to identify implications of business decisions across various legal areas such as privacy, insurance compliance, consumer protection laws, intellectual property, and contractual obligations. Requirements • At least 2 years of experience practicing law, preferably at a law firm or in-house, supporting consumer-facing companies. , • Experience in property & casualty insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is preferred. , • Fluency in English; Spanish is a plus for speaking and writing. , • A law degree and an active law license to practice in the United States. , • Strong listening and communication skills. , • Ability to quickly understand business plans, processes, and procedures. , • Capability to provide legal advice with incomplete information. , • Superb judgment regarding legal risks and mitigation opportunities. , • Solution-oriented mindset.
