Redwire Space, located in Jacksonville, FL, has a current opportunity for a Staff Accountant who will be responsible for providing daily & administrative support to the Manager of Accounting operations, including daily entry into the accounting system. Requires an attention to detail and solid analytical, organizational and communication abilities. Responsibilities: • Prepares general ledger entries as needed and reconciles all balance sheet accounts. • Performs month-end close functions including preparing and/or reviewing of journal entries for month-end close ensuring transactions are reasonable and in compliance with Business Processes, GAAP and FAR. • Requires data/transaction retrieval/analysis from external sources. • Verify accuracy of accounting documents & records. • Updates, reconciles, and maintains accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e., expense vouchers, invoices, receipts, disbursements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc.). • Ensures all accounting processes are being conducted in accordance with established standards procedures, and applicable laws. • Must be a hands-on accountant, being able to shift gears as needed. • Some limited travel may be required. Ideal Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance is required. • A minimum of 2 or more years of accounting experience required. • Experience and aptitude for applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Dynamic GP.) • Knowledge of general accounting functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledgers and month end closings. • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP. Desired Skills/Traits: • Understanding of Percentage-Of-Completion accounting. • Detail and deadline oriented. • Ability to maintain sensitive information in confidence. • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and independently in an effective and timely manner. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and positive relationship-building skills. • Strong judgement and decision-making skills, based upon known criteria. • Ability to objectively analyze and evaluate facts.
