Position Summary

The Retail Customer Service Representative at arenaflex is responsible for delivering outstanding service to every customer while supporting the day-to-day operations of the store. This includes greeting and engaging customers, assisting with merchandise selection, accurately processing transactions, maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment, and ensuring the store is well-stocked and ready for business at all times.

Beyond the front-end responsibilities, this role also plays an important part in back-of-house operations. You will help unload deliveries, organize stock, replenish shelves, and transport merchandise from the stockroom to the sales floor. Our representatives are true team players who take ownership of the store environment and contribute to a safe, welcoming, and profitable operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Engagement: Greet every customer with a positive, approachable attitude and provide friendly, knowledgeable assistance throughout their shopping experience. Build rapport and make each interaction feel personal and valued.
  • Merchandise Assistance: Help customers locate products, provide information about features and availability, and offer recommendations based on their needs. Stay informed about current promotions, store layouts, and product categories.
  • Transaction Processing: Accurately handle customer payments, operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, process returns and exchanges, and manage cash handling procedures with integrity and attention to detail.
  • Store Presentation: Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment. Ensure aisles, shelves, and end-caps are tidy, well-merchandised, and free of hazards throughout the day.
  • Stock and Inventory Support: Assist in unloading merchandise from delivery trucks, sorting and organizing incoming shipments, and restocking shelves in a timely manner to keep the sales floor fully stocked.
  • Safety and Security Awareness: Remain attentive to customer activity and store surroundings at all times. Identify and report any safety concerns, suspicious behavior, or potential security risks to management promptly.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with store leadership and fellow team members to achieve daily operational goals, support special projects, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
  • Operational Flexibility: Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall effectiveness and profitability of the store. Adapt to changing priorities and step in where needed.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education

While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, it is not strictly required. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your ability to follow instructions, and your commitment to delivering excellent service. You should be comfortable reading and interpreting retail operational documents, signage, and company procedures.

Experience

Prior experience in retail, hospitality, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments is highly valued but not mandatory. We welcome applicants from a variety of customer service backgrounds who bring strong interpersonal skills and a passion for helping others. Physical Requirements

This role requires the ability to perform a variety of physical tasks throughout the workday. You must be able to:

  • Regularly lift and move up to 40 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 55 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, push, pull, and perform repetitive lifting motions as needed.
  • Remain on your feet for extended periods and move comfortably throughout the store.
  • Operate store equipment, including POS systems, pallet jacks, and pricing tools.

Availability

arenaflex stores operate seven days a week, and our team members play an essential role in keeping the store running smoothly during peak shopping times. Candidates must be available to work a flexible, full-time schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules may vary based on store needs and seasonal demand.
