Harvest Hub Supply -- Startup of an online marketplace, connecting local farmers with end consumer directly
Job Title: Founding Full-Stack Developer (Worldwide) About Harvest Hub Supply Harvest Hub Supply is an ambitious ag-tech startup aiming to bridge the gap between local farmers and the modern consumer. We are building a "Digital Farmers Market" that removes the middleman. Whether it’s fresh produce or ethically raised meats, we provide the platform for farmers to list, sell, and distribute—either via a DoorDash-style delivery model or through our own decentralized "Smart Hub" warehouses. We are looking for indivduals who want to distrupt the processed food chain by highlighting local farms. Without local farms, copamies like Sysco and U.S. foods will continue to push out ultra-processed foods without repercussion. Please note, this is a start up in the idea phase. The Role We are looking for a highly motivated Full-Stack Developer to build the MVP (Minimum Viable Product) from the ground up. You won't just be writing code; you will be architecting a dual-sided marketplace that handles complex logistics, revolving inventories, and multiple user roles. I am willing to assist with any step along the way, however I am not a coder.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Architecture: Build a robust, scalable mobile and web application. Three-Way Marketplace Integration: For Farmers: Inventory management for "revolving menus" and drop-off scheduling. For Consumers/Restaurants: A sleek, high-conversion browsing and checkout experience. For Drivers/Hubs: Logistics tracking for pickups and curbside fulfillment. Payment Systems: Integrate secure payment gateways (Stripe/PayPal) with automated payouts for farmers. Geolocation: Implement GPS tracking for delivery drivers and "nearest hub" discovery for users (this will start in New England) Technical Requirements Frontend: Experience with React Native or Flutter (for cross-platform mobile) and React.js for the web dashboard (open to suggestions). Backend: Proficiency in Node.js, Python (Django/FastAPI), or Go (open to suggestions). Database: Experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB to handle fluctuating inventory. Logistics/Maps: Familiarity with Google Maps API or Mapbox. Language: Professional-level English (written and verbal) – preferable
