Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sophisticated trading strategies for various commodities (e.g., metals, minerals, energy). Conduct in-depth market research, analysis of supply/demand dynamics, geopolitical factors, and economic indicators. Identify and capitalize on arbitrage opportunities and price differentials. Execute trades across physical and derivative markets, ensuring efficient transaction management. Manage trading positions, monitor market risks, and implement hedging strategies as necessary. Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, consumers, brokers, and other market participants. Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and logistics for commodity transactions. Provide market insights and trade recommendations to senior management and relevant teams. Ensure compliance with all relevant trading regulations and internal risk management policies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or MBA is a significant advantage. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in commodities trading, with a demonstrable track record of successful trading performance. In-depth knowledge of global commodity markets, particularly in metals, minerals, or energy sectors. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools. Experience with trading platforms and risk management systems. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proven ability to make quick, informed decisions based on market intelligence. Understanding of logistics and supply chain management for commodities is a plus.
