Position Overview

We are currently hiring a Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative – Member Support, Benefits & Health Plan Guidance to join our growing U.S. work-from-home team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for members seeking assistance with their health plans, benefits, and online account navigation. You will handle inbound inquiries, conduct outbound research calls, and recommend plan upgrades with compassion and accuracy. Your ability to listen, empathize, and resolve issues with a smile will make all the difference in turning an average customer experience into an exceptional one.

Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, your typical day will be dynamic, rewarding, and member-focused. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to inbound calls from healthcare members with professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Recommending appropriate upgrades and enhancements to members’ health plans based on their unique needs and product knowledge
  • Conducting outbound research calls to provide accurate answers regarding general healthcare benefits, eligibility questions, and enrollment status
  • Assisting both new and existing members with enrollment-related inquiries and follow-up requests
  • Helping members navigate their online health accounts, including logging in, understanding functionality, and accessing key features
  • Locating and sharing information about in-network doctors, facilities, and healthcare providers
  • Documenting all member interactions accurately and thoroughly in our CRM systems
  • Adhering strictly to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy and confidential health information
  • Collaborating with team leads and peers to share insights, best practices, and continuous improvement ideas
  • Meeting performance goals related to quality, customer satisfaction, and productivity

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should bring a combination of skills, experience, and personal attributes that align with arenaflex’s commitment to exceptional service:

  • Customer Service Experience: A minimum of 6 months of customer service experience, preferably in a call center, healthcare, or related environment
  • HIPAA Knowledge & Integrity: A clear understanding of, and commitment to, HIPAA guidelines and patient privacy standards
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical Comfort: Basic computer experience, including navigating multiple systems, typing, and using web-based applications
  • Reliable Internet: High-speed internet connection with a minimum of 15 Mbps download speed
  • Headset: A USB wired headset is recommended (Bluetooth headsets are not supported). If you already have a compatible wired headset, you may be able to use it
  • Smart Device: Access to a smartphone or another device running iOS or Android (such as a tablet) for daily log-in
  • Residency: Must reside in one of the approved U.S. states (we are currently not hiring from Alaska, California, Hawaii, or outside of the United States)

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will help you stand out as a candidate:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, insurance, or benefits-related customer service role
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, health plan structures, or member enrollment processes
  • Previous work-from-home or remote experience
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities (Spanish fluency is a plus)
  • Experience using CRM platforms, ticketing systems, or healthcare-specific software
  • A demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding performance metrics in a customer-facing role

Reporting Structure

In this role, you will report directly to a Team Lead who will provide guidance, coaching, and performance feedback. You will work collaboratively with fellow customer service representatives, team leads, quality assurance specialists, and operations managers to deliver an outstanding member experience and contribute to the overall success of the team.
