Key Responsibilities
Guest Interaction & Sales Excellence
- Greet each guest warmly, assess their needs, and guide them to the most appropriate products, leveraging deep product knowledge and suggestive‑selling techniques.
- Promote arenaflex loyalty programs, including Pals Rewards sign‑ups and the Welcome to the Family initiative, to deepen customer relationships.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism in both verbal and written communication, always prioritizing arenaflex’s brand values.
- Process transactions accurately using the point‑of‑sale system, handle cash, credit, and digital payments, and perform end‑of‑shift cash register balancing.
- Assist guests with carry‑out services, ensuring safe handling of items up to 50 pounds per trip.
Animal Care & Welfare
- Conduct hourly health checks on live animals (birds, reptiles, fish, and small mammals) and record observations in accordance with arenaflex standards.
- Provide clean, safe, and enriching environments for all in‑store animals, promptly reporting any signs of illness or injury to the Store Leader.
- Educate guests on proper animal handling, nutrition, and care, reinforcing arenaflex’s commitment to responsible pet ownership.
Store Operations & Merchandising
- Stock, face, and organize merchandise to ensure a tidy, inviting sales floor that aligns with visual merchandising guidelines.
- Maintain accurate pricing, labeling, and inventory levels, supporting the store’s overall sales targets.
- Participate in loading, unloading, and stocking activities, adhering to safety protocols and loss‑prevention policies.
- Execute routine housekeeping tasks—including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and window cleaning—to preserve a professional store appearance.
- Assist in quarterly and annual physical inventory audits, contributing to accurate stock counts and shrinkage control.
Omni‑Channel Support
- Facilitate seamless integration of in‑store and online experiences, ensuring that orders placed through Instacart, Extended Aisle, and Repeat Delivery are fulfilled accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with the Guest Experience Leader and the Leader on Duty to resolve guest inquiries, escalations, and special requests.
Special Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Take ownership of assigned special projects, ranging from seasonal promotions to community outreach initiatives, delivering results on time and within scope.
- Provide feedback on store processes, suggesting enhancements that improve efficiency, guest satisfaction, and employee safety.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in retail, animal science, or related fields is a plus.
- Minimum of 1‑2 years of retail or customer‑service experience, preferably in a pet‑care or animal‑related environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions, operate a POS system, and balance a cash register.
