The Infection Prevention & Surveillance team within the Public Health Intelligence Division is seeking a dynamic, self-starting professional to provide epidemiological expertise and project management in health data analysis, interpretation, and communicable disease surveillance. As an Epidemiologist, you will play a key role in monitoring reportable diseases, analyzing data, and translating complex health information for regional staff and external partners. - Monitor and analyze data from reportable diseases and novel surveillance systems to identify trends and public health concerns.
- Conduct in-depth epidemiological analysis and translate complex health data into actionable insights for internal teams and external partners.
- Participate in outbreak investigations, contributing to timely and effective public health responses.
- Collaborate with internal staff, external agencies, and epidemiology colleagues across the province to enhance public health surveillance and response efforts. What You Bring to the Role: Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Epidemiology or equivalent field.
- Experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of public health surveillance systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of public health issues, with a strong foundation in epidemiological principles.
- Experience in communicable diseases preferred, including proficiency with provincial health databases for reportable diseases.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SPSS, STATA, or SAS, Power BI, as well as Excel. Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to synthesize and evaluate epidemiological data from multiple sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable information.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team environment.

In this role, you’ll benefit from the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement that prioritizes meaningful in-person connection.
