[Remote] Data Visualization Engineer

SoTalent is seeking a talented Data Visualization Engineer to join their product and engineering team and help transform complex data into intuitive, impactful visual experiences. In this role, you will design and build rich, interactive data visualizations that simplify complex datasets and enhance user understanding.
Responsibilities
- Develop interactive and information-rich visualizations using JavaScript, React, D3, and SVG
- Build backend data services using Python to support visualization needs
- Design visual solutions with a focus on usability, accessibility, and user experience
- Collaborate with domain experts and engineering teams to integrate new data sets
- Work closely with NLP engineers to incorporate extracted insights into visual interfaces
- Continuously explore new tools and technologies to enhance visualization capabilities
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team-wide engineering best practices
Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience building data visualization or analytics software
- Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript, along with HTML and CSS/SASS
- Proven ability to transform complex data into clear, meaningful visualizations
- Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills
- Bachelor's degree in design, visual communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Expertise in React or D3.js
- Experience with Python or Elasticsearch
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL and ORM tools like SQLAlchemy
- Experience contributing to open-source or sharing code samples/projects
