Join a team at the forefront of digital transformation and help build, enhance, and support enterprise technology platforms that enable better services for Albertans. As a Platform Services Officer within the Business and Technology (BTO) branch, you will play a key role in supporting and advancing critical technology platforms used across the Government of Alberta. Working within a collaborative, agile environment, you will contribute to platform enhancements, service improvements, troubleshooting, and the development of scalable, reusable solutions that support business outcomes. This position reports to the Team Lead, Platform Services and works closely with cross-functional technical teams, business partners, project teams, and stakeholders across government to deliver secure, reliable, and innovative technology services.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Support the ongoing operation, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise technology platforms. Participate in platform upgrades, implementations, and service improvements to ensure reliability, availability, and performance. Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and service requests in collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders. Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, standards, and support materials. Identify opportunities to improve platform capabilities, service delivery, and operational efficiency. Contribute to the design, configuration, and development of platform-based solutions that address business needs. Implement changes in accordance with incident, problem, and change management processes. Ensure compliance with Government of Alberta IMT policies, security requirements, and audit standards. Monitor and support the delivery of technology services, including implementation, operations, and system integration activities. Participate in project teams, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, testing activities, and solution evaluations. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and recommend technology solutions aligned with enterprise standards. Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve services and solutions. Support audits, reporting requirements, and service reviews while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications

Requirements: A related two-year diploma in Computer Sciences, Information Technology or a related discipline from a recognized post secondary institution. Equivalencies: Equivalencies will be considered: A related one (1) year certification in computer technology or a related discipline from a recognized postsecondary institution and one (1) year of related experience. Assets: ITIL Certification. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and service management best practices. ServiceNow experience or an equivalent experience with similar tools. Experience supporting, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise technology platforms, applications, or services. Experience troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving technical incidents, service requests, and system issues in a complex technology environment. Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) practices, including incident, problem, change, and service request management. Experience participating in platform upgrades, implementations, testing, and operational support activities. Experience with system integration, platform configuration, application support, and related technology services. Knowledge of technology governance, security, compliance, and audit requirements. Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend effective solutions. Understanding of enterprise technology environments and the interdependencies between systems and services. Experience working within Agile and/or Scrum delivery environments and contributing to technology projects and cross-functional initiatives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.
