[Remote] Deposit Operations Quality Control and Oversight Program Manager

The Deposit Operations Quality Control & Oversight Program Manager serves as a senior subject matter expert, overseeing deposit operations reconciliations and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Lead and govern daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations for deposit-related general ledger (GL) and internal accounts, establishing certification standards, timelines, and documentation requirements to ensure completeness and control compliance
- Direct investigation and resolution of out-of-balance conditions, variances, and aged/unreconciled items; perform root-cause analysis, quantify impact, and drive sustainable corrective actions across stakeholders within established SLAs
- Oversee exception governance for items such as ACH returns, check adjustments, and posting discrepancies prioritizing high-risk exposures, coordinating cross-team resolution, and ensuring timely clearing, accurate disposition, and documented approvals
- Own quality control reviews and control testing for deposit operations processes; define test plans, document results, report control performance trends, and drive remediation through to verified closure
- Establish and oversee reconciliation and exception performance metrics and dashboards; deliver actionable risk insights to management, identify systemic trends, and recommend enhancements to controls and operating procedures
- Prepare, review, and certify reconciliation packages and audit-ready support in accordance with record retention standards; ensure clear narratives for reconciling items, approvals, and evidence of control execution
- Lead escalation and incident management for unresolved discrepancies, control breaks, or potential losses; complete impact assessments, coordinate containment and recovery actions, and provide concise, timely communications to leadership
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal/external audits and exams by providing reconciliation, reports, walkthroughs, and evidence of control design and operating effectiveness; coordinate responses through issue closure
- Partner with Accounting, Payments, Branch Operations, Digital Banking, and Technology to lead problem solving for complex breaks and defects; drive alignment on ownership, timelines, and long-term fixes
- Own and enhance reconciliation procedures, QC standards, and job aids; provide training and guidance to ensure consistent execution and adherence to policy and regulatory expectations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., standardization, automation, tooling optimization) to increase efficiency, reduce exception volume, and strengthen end-to-end control effectiveness
Skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree required
- 7+ years of experience in banking operations, deposit operations, or account reconciliation
- Strong understanding of reconciliation processes, general ledger balancing, and exception handling
- Experience with core banking systems and reconciliation tools
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel or similar tools for data analysis and reporting
- Field of study in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with transaction processing, inclearing & returns, and adjustments preferred
