[Remote] Digital Content Strategist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Mixte Communications is a community-driven communications agency focused on justice, health, and freedom for all people. They are seeking a Digital Content Strategist who will lead digital community building strategies and implement visual and written content across various platforms, collaborating closely with the communications team.
Responsibilities
- Operate with an expert degree of autonomy and reliability as it relates to project timelines, meeting deadlines and communication on progress
- Confidence to guide clients toward what you know to be the best approach to paid and organic digital media, while still making them feel heard
- Proficiency walking clients through complex and jargony digital media topics, ensuring they have clarity and understanding
- Use your emotional intelligence to foresee and respond to client concerns before they materialize into something bigger
- Find technological solutions to day-to-day challenges so we can work smarter, not harder
- Collaborate with other strategists to understand how various communications initiatives overlap and ensure all are working together toward big-picture company and client goals
- Use “yes, and…” to keep clients (and your team) feeling heard and supported when priorities shift or new opportunities emerge
- Push the creative envelope and encourage the team to see their work as an outside-the-box catalyst for social change
- Understand 23-point Mixte Manual and how all of the things Mixte does as a company interact with your strategic role as Digital Content Strategist
- Develop digital marketing strategic plans for short-term campaigns as well as multi-year initiatives that move clients closer to big-picture organizational goals
- Activate on digital media tactics proposed in your strategic plans, including but not limited to: email marketing campaigns, setting up and drafting organic content, website management and updates, text message marketing, digital toolkits and more
- Manage organic social media community engagement to keep client accounts
- Work on social media scheduling platforms, such as SproutSocial, and maintain and update editorial calendars with digital media content recommendations
- Manage design and digital subcontractors as needed
- Aggregate data, organize KPIs and make strategic analyses and recommendations based on data and overall client goals
- Research, discover, and recommend new digital tools, platforms and opportunities to ensure we’re innovating with our digital approach
- Cultivate and earn new business for the company. Each strategist has specific revenue goals for the department as well as individual outreach goals to achieve
Skills
- Must currently reside in either San Francisco, San Diego or Atlanta metropolitan areas; relocation is not being considered for this role
- Bilingual Spanish/English digital content strategist
- High levels of emotional intelligence and love building long-term relationships
- Ability to call out injustice and produce social media content that does the same
- Passion for digital organizing and movement building
- Love writing in both English and Spanish and designing content with a cultural lens
- Enjoy fluctuating between earned, owned and paid digital media

- Advanced English and Spanish language proficiency
- At least 4-6 years of experience in digital marketing or digital media
- Exceptional communication and public speaking skills
- Experience in Google Ads, Ad Grants for Nonprofits and Google Analytics
- Experience in Asana, Slack and Google Workspace preferred
- A demonstrated commitment to equity, cultural humility and learning as ongoing practice — not a credential
