[Remote] Senior Product Designer

Groundfloor Finance is a remote-friendly, high-growth wealthtech company based out of Atlanta, providing public access to private markets. They are looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead efforts in developing consumer-grade designs for their investment platform, collaborating closely with the Product team to enhance user experience and manage design execution.

Responsibilities

  • Help create a high performance design culture both by setting a high quality bar and mentoring other cross-functional designers
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and business teams to define problems; goals, research requirements, map user flows, prototype, and launch new products
  • Manage the execution of design projects and the development of the design team
  • Proactively offer recommendations and solutions by championing high quality design standards grounded in research and analysis
  • Create deliverables at various levels of fidelity from sketches to wireframes to final designs
  • Communicate progress and key updates with other team members on a regular basis
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of Groundfloor’s existing products and our users
  • Supporting early product definition by working closely with stakeholders and customers to participate in discovery sessions that uncover customer pain points and opportunities
  • Work with product managers to understand customer needs and define opportunities through usability testing

Skills

  • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding and knowledge of user-centered design activities from research, concepting, flows, sitemaps, wireframes, to high fidelity user interfaces
  • A strong visual design sensibility
  • An in-depth understanding of UX concepts
  • A strong portfolio and a high quality of work
  • Design systems experience
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted design and prototyping tools to accelerate exploration and iteration
  • Clear and effective communication skills in articulating design concepts and rationales
  • Effective time-management skills and ability to deliver on multiple competing priorities
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to understand and contribute to an established product vision and strategy, balancing short-term goals with long-term objectives
  • Design and Aesthetic Insight: A keen eye for design and a deep appreciation for aesthetics, coupled with a practical understanding of how exceptional UX/UI drives business success in the fintech domain
  • Iterative Development: Ability to drive iterative improvements, based on customer feedback and market insights to deliver incremental value in a fast-paced Agile environment
  • User-Centric Mindset: Passion for understanding user needs and behaviors, with a commitment to delivering products that delight and exceed expectations
  • Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to raise the quality of design work through feedback, collaboration, and leadership by example
  • Storytelling: The ability to present design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps; strength in developing mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how products will function and look like
  • Flying at different altitudes: The ability to deliver both wireframes and high-quality, polished designs using Figma
  • 7+ years of product design experience, ideally designing consumer-facing digital products
  • Fintech, investing, wealthtech, or real estate product experience is a plus
  • Advanced Figma skills
  • Experience with financial tools, investment platforms, and/or real estate products; professional experience preferred
  • Experience collaborating with front end developers to create efficient design systems
  • Success in raising the design bar on consumer-facing products, emphasizing a customer first approach
  • High degree of financial literacy, comfortable with basic concepts related to building and managing a personal portfolio of investments in public and private market securities
