[Remote] Security Engagement Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Scalence L.L.C. is seeking a Security Engagement Engineer to act as the security liaison for projects, ensuring security requirements are met from initiation through implementation. The individual will engage with project teams, provide security guidance, and verify security controls before deployment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in projects from inception
• Review and influence solution and security design
• Communicate security requirements to project teams
• Act as the primary security representative for projects
• Coordinate with specialized security teams when needed
• Work across multiple security disciplines, including: Risk & Vulnerability Management, Network Security, Application Security, Third-Party Security, Cloud Security, Infrastructure Security
• Verify that required security controls have been implemented
• Provide security attestation at project launch/go-live gates

Skills

• Bachelor's degree with approximately 4 years of experience
• At least 3 years in a Security Architect or similar role
• Approximately 5–7 years of overall experience can be sufficient
• Broad understanding of Cloud Security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Broad understanding of Network Security
• Broad understanding of Application Security
• Broad understanding of Security controls and governance
• Broad understanding of Security architecture concepts
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to explain security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Stakeholder management
• Organization and coordination skills
• Customer-facing engagement experience
• CISSP
• Certified Cloud Practitioner
• Other certifications from ISC² that demonstrate broad security knowledge
• Experience in large MSOs (Multiple System Operators)
• Experience in large ISPs (Internet Service Providers)
