[Remote] Staff Accountant (Chile/Argentina) (US GAAP / Short term rental Accounting / Trust Accounting)

They are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support U.S.-based clients in areas such as real estate, short-term rentals, and e-commerce, focusing on daily accounting activities and client communication.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
- Support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules
- Assist with account reconciliations, cleanup projects, and financial data organization
- Support cash management, restricted cash tracking, and balance sheet reconciliations as applicable
- Assist with sales tax and other compliance-related activities
- Collaborate directly with U.S.-based clients to gather documentation and resolve accounting questions
- Communicate financial information clearly and professionally in English
- Build trusted relationships through responsiveness, reliability, and attention to detail
- Manage multiple clients, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously
- Partner with Senior Accountants and Accounting Managers to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
- Assist with onboarding new clients and organizing financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
- Work within modern cloud-based accounting platforms including QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Gusto, Expensify, Guesty, Streamline, Asana, and other business applications
- Maintain strong organization and communication in a fully remote environment
- Adapt quickly to new technologies, workflows, and client systems
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting experience
- Experience supporting U.S.-based clients or U.S. accounting operations
- Experience using QuickBooks Online
- Understanding of U.S. accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to work full-time during U.S. business hours
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience in a public accounting firm, CAS practice, or outsourced accounting environment
- Experience with multi-entity US accounting
- Experience with restricted cash, trust accounts, escrow accounts, or commingled funds
- Experience supporting real estate, hospitality, property management, or short-term rental clients
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Guesty, Streamline, or similar platforms
