arenaflex is a leading, privately‑owned retailer renowned for its vibrant stores, inspiring home‑decor collections, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. With a workforce that spans the United States and a growing remote‑first strategy, arenaflex invests heavily in technology, people, and community. Our Human Resources (HR) team plays a pivotal role in translating corporate values into tangible benefits, compliance excellence, and seamless operational support. As we continue to expand our digital footprint, we are seeking a seasoned HR Systems Analyst who can champion SAP HCM, Kronos, and benefits platforms while driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Why This Role Matters – The Impact You’ll Have

In this full‑time, exempt position, you will serve as the technical backbone for arenaflex’s Benefits and HR operations. Reporting directly to the Director of Employee Benefits, you will partner with cross‑functional teams, external vendors, and end‑users to ensure that our HRIS ecosystem is reliable, compliant, and future‑ready. Your expertise will directly influence employee satisfaction, regulatory adherence, and the efficiency of payroll, leave, and benefits administration for thousands of arenaflex associates nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP HR Data Framework Management: Lead the collection, update, and training of SAP HCM data structures, identifying opportunities for process automation and strategic enhancements.
  • System Issue Resolution: Act as the primary liaison between arenaflex’s Information Systems department, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve system‑related incidents.
  • Configuration & Upgrades: Oversee testing, configuration, patching, and version upgrades for SAP, Kronos, the Benefits Enrollment System, and any ancillary HR platforms.
  • Benefits & Leave Coding: Develop and maintain code configurations for all Benefits Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), FMLA, and state‑specific leave statutes within SAP and Kronos.
  • Functional Specification Gathering: Consult with end users to capture functional requirements, translate them into system specifications, and implement changes promptly.
  • Testing Strategy Development: Design comprehensive testing plans, author test scripts, and manage defect resolution to ensure system integrity.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Management: Keep system configuration documentation current, creating clear guides for future administrators and auditors.
  • Billing Support: Serve as a backup for monthly billing processes related to Life, Optional Life, and Long‑Term Disability plans.
  • Regulatory Reporting & Audits: Prepare EEO‑1 reports, support annual audits, generate census data, and produce ad‑hoc Excel reports for compliance and leadership.
  • Organization Management: Manage job codes, workers’ compensation classifications, EEO categories, and facilitate the creation or relocation of positions and sites.
  • Legislative Monitoring: Stay abreast of evolving benefit legislation and advise HR leadership on potential impacts.
  • Project Documentation: Contribute to the creation of detailed project requirement documents for the Information Systems and Projects teams.
  • Training & Communication: Deliver in‑person and virtual presentations to educate employees on benefits, HR systems, and policy changes.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Generate timely reports for Benefits, Leave of Absence, HR, and Legal departments, supporting data‑driven decision making.
  • Problem‑Solving Judgment: Apply sound judgment to select optimal solutions for complex system challenges.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned, including occasional weekend work to support critical system updates.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of hands‑on experience with SAP HCM, Kronos, or comparable HRIS platforms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in benefits administration, leave of absence management, and HR compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite—especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros), Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a track record of extracting, interpreting, and reporting data from large databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
  • Detail‑oriented mindset with a commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high‑quality work.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast‑paced, remote team environment.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Professional certifications such as SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP HCM, or Kronos Workforce Central certifications.
  • Experience leading full‑cycle HRIS implementation projects or major system upgrades.
  • Knowledge of federal and state benefit regulations, including FMLA, ACA, and state leave laws.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Project management experience (PMP or Agile Scrum Master certification is a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop training materials and conduct engaging workshops.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of HRIS architecture, data flows, and integration points.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose complex system issues and devise practical, scalable solutions.
  • Communication: Clear, concise, and persuasive communication with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Commitment to delivering exceptional internal service to HR partners and employees.
  • Adaptability: Comfort navigating changing priorities, regulatory updates, and evolving technology landscapes.
  • Leadership: Capability to mentor junior analysts and lead cross‑functional project phases.
