SEO & AEO (GEO) Associate
Avenue Z is a marketing agency that specializes in AI-driven marketing and performance media. They are seeking a detail-oriented SEO & AEO Associate to support and execute search engine optimization strategies across client accounts, improve website visibility, and drive organic traffic.
Responsibilities
- SEO Strategy & Execution
- + Assist in the development and implementation of SEO strategies for a variety of clients and industries
- + Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities
- + Optimize website content, meta tags, and landing pages for targeted keywords and improved rankings
- + Support technical SEO efforts such as improving site speed, implementing schema markup, and addressing crawl/indexing issues
- + Develop backlinking strategies that align with client goals. Outreach is not required
- + Stay current on SEO trends, Google algorithm updates, and emerging tools
- AEO (GEO) Strategy & Execution:
- + Assist in the development and implementation of AEO (GEO) strategies for a variety of clients and industries
- + Follow our award-winning and proprietary Prompt Research process and Competitive Research processes to establish prompt strategies and identify Client growth opportunities
- + Develop comprehensive AEO LLM Analyses and quarterly blueprints for client success to drive visibility for prioritized prompts
- + Optimize website content, meta tags, and landing pages for targeted prompts and improved rankings
- + Collaborate with content writers, organic social marketers, and PR associates on the alignment of their strategies into AEO best practices and client-needs. Support technical AEO efforts such as improving site speed, implementing schema markup, and addressing crawl/indexing issues
- Performance Analysis & Reporting:
- + Use tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Peec, Profound, Writesonic, Azoma (or similar platforms) to track performance and generate reports
- + Monitor rankings, traffic trends, and KPIs to assess campaign success and uncover optimization opportunities
- + Provide insights and actionable recommendations to senior team members or clients based on data analysis
- Collaboration & Execution
- + Work closely with content, development, and paid media teams to align SEO & AEO initiatives with broader digital strategies
- + Support content planning and development from an SEO perspective, including topic research and keyword mapping
- + Help QA website changes, track tag implementation, and support cross-functional testing and optimizations
Skills
- 1–3 years of experience in SEO
- Up to 1 year of AEO (GEO) experience
- Experience with Digital PR, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, or Shopify
- Strong understanding of core SEO concepts including keyword research, technical SEO, and content optimization
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or Screaming Frog
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for learning and staying ahead of SEO trends
- 1–3 years of hands-on SEO experience, preferably in an agency or multi-client setting
- Up to 1 year of hands-on AEO (GEO) experience, preferably in an agency or multi-client setting
- Experience with AEO / GEO platforms like Azoma, Peec, Profound, and/or Writesonic is a bonus
- Experience with Shopify, WordPress, or other CMS platforms is a bonus
