Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join arenaflex’s Information Designing Group. In this pivotal role you will design, build, and operate the core data products that enable analytics, AI, and product development across the enterprise. You will work hand‑in‑hand with product owners, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate complex business problems into robust, scalable data solutions that run on modern cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end‑to‑end development of data pipelines that ingest, transform, and load high‑volume data from on‑premise and cloud sources into the arenaflex Data Lake. Design, implement, and maintain automated data quality and monitoring frameworks that capture functional KPIs for pipeline performance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data models, schemas, and metadata standards that support downstream analytics and machine‑learning workloads. Drive the productionalization of data science models, ensuring they are reliable, reproducible, and performant at scale. Manage service‑level agreements (SLAs) for data products, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks. Support large‑scale experimentation by data scientists, providing sandbox environments and rapid data provisioning. Research and prototype emerging data‑engineering technologies, evaluating their fit for arenaflex’s strategic roadmap. Document architectural decisions, data lineage, and operational procedures to foster knowledge sharing across the organization. Develop reusable libraries and packages that accelerate development across multiple data projects. Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and champion best practices in data engineering, DevOps, and DataOps.

Essential Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Science, or a related technical field. Experience Minimum 2 years of hands‑on experience with data lake architectures, data warehousing, and data‑analysis tools. Proven expertise in SQL development, performance tuning, and programming languages such as Python, PySpark, or Scala. At least 2 years of cloud data engineering experience on arenaflex (formerly Azure) platforms, including certification(s) on arenaflex cloud services. Demonstrated ability to build and scale high‑volume ETL/ELT pipelines, data profiling, and data‑quality frameworks (e.g., arenaflex). Experience with MPP database technologies (e.g., arenaflex) and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Familiarity with version‑control systems (e.g., arenaflex) and continuous integration tools. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in a quantitative discipline. Hands‑on experience with data‑science platforms (e.g., arenaflex) and machine‑learning pipelines. Background in retail or supply‑chain analytics, having built solutions that impact store‑network or product‑development processes. Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and data‑glossary frameworks. Experience working in fast‑paced, matrixed environments with distributed global teams. Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., arenaflex) for reporting and visualization.
