Realtime Captioner (Continuous)

Provide real-time captioning services for all classes and events at California State University, Northridge. Ensure accurate and timely transcriptions of spoken dialogue and audio content for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Collaborate with faculty and staff to understand course materials and event content in order to provide effective and accurate captions. Utilize captioning technology and equipment to provide high-quality captions that meet accessibility standards. Monitor and troubleshoot captioning technology to ensure uninterrupted services. Continuously improve captioning skills and stay updated on advancements in captioning technology. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor while working with students, faculty, and staff. Adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies when working with sensitive information. Communicate effectively and promptly with team members and supervisors regarding any issues or concerns. Attend training and development opportunities to enhance captioning skills and stay updated on university policies and procedures. Assist in the coordination and scheduling of captioning services for classes and events. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for students with disabilities by providing equal access to education. Adhere to all university policies and procedures related to captioning services. Collaborate with other access and disability services on campus to ensure a coordinated and seamless experience for students.
