Our mission‑driven culture places the customer at the heart of everything we do, and we are constantly seeking top‑tier talent to power the next generation of cloud‑native infrastructure that supports our massive, globally‑distributed user base.

Position Overview – Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a visionary Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join arenaflex’s Infrastructure Team. In this role you will architect, build, and operate adaptable, cloud‑native platforms with a strong focus on customer‑facing services. You will lead the design of highly reliable, scalable systems, mentor a growing team of engineers, and drive best‑in‑class practices across the organization. This is a hands‑on technical leadership position that blends deep engineering expertise with strategic influence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Architecture & Delivery: Design and implement robust, multi‑region cloud architectures that meet stringent latency, reliability, and uptime requirements for high‑traffic events.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Governance: Establish and enforce IaC standards, ensuring code‑first infrastructure management is extensible, secure, and maintainable at scale.
  • Service & Performance Benchmarks: Define performance metrics, set service‑level objectives (SLOs), and continuously monitor system health to guarantee a resilient platform.
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Guide a team of junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering a culture of learning, code quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, security, data, and operations teams to translate business requirements into reliable engineering solutions.
  • Incident Management & Root‑Cause Analysis: Lead post‑mortem investigations, drive corrective actions, and champion proactive reliability engineering.
  • Tooling & Automation: Build and maintain automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks that empower development teams to ship rapidly and safely.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Produce clear, concise documentation and architectural diagrams that serve as reference points for internal stakeholders.

Essential Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience designing and operating large‑scale cloud infrastructure, preferably in a consumer‑facing environment.
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and modern cloud‑native tooling (e.g., Helm, Argo CD, Terraform, Pulumi).
  • Proficiency in at least one high‑level programming language (Go, Python, Java, or C#) and strong scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell).
  • Extensive experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, etc.) and a solid understanding of networking, security groups, and IAM policies.
  • Demonstrated success implementing Infrastructure as Code at enterprise scale, managing dozens of services across multiple teams.
  • Solid background in Linux system administration, including performance tuning, kernel parameters, and network stack configuration.
  • Track record of producing high‑quality technical documentation with an emphasis on clarity and brevity.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to troubleshooting and capacity planning.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure, GCP) and the ability to design cloud‑agnostic solutions.
  • Familiarity with service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd) and observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Background in building and operating streaming or media delivery pipelines, including CDN integration.
  • Prior experience leading a distributed engineering team and driving cultural change toward DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align technical roadmaps with business objectives and anticipate future scaling challenges.
  • Communication: Clear articulation of complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively across product, security, data, and operations teams.
  • Leadership: Passion for mentoring, coaching, and developing engineering talent.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment with evolving priorities.
  • Quality Focus: Commitment to writing clean, testable code and championing best practices in code review and CI/CD.

At arenaflex, we invest heavily in the professional development of our engineers. As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from industry veterans and opportunities to lead high‑visibility projects.
  • Sponsored certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, etc.).
  • Regular internal tech talks, hackathons, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
  • Pathways to senior technical leadership roles such as Principal Engineer, Cloud Architecture Director, or VP of Platform Engineering.
  • Cross‑functional rotation programs that broaden exposure to product, data science, and security domains.
