Welcome to arenaflex, a forward-thinking technology organization at the forefront of designing, building, and maintaining the physical infrastructure that powers the modern digital world. At arenaflex, our custom-engineered hardware forms the backbone of one of the largest and most powerful computing ecosystems on the planet. The Manufacturing Operations team at arenaflex is responsible for delivering the production capabilities that bring our state-of-the-art physical systems to life, ensuring every component, every server, and every accelerator meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and performance.

As a Senior Product Engineer within our Technical Infrastructure organization, you will evaluate intricate product designs and create the processes, tools, and methodologies that drive the manufacturing of cutting-edge technology. When our global network of vendors assembles components for our infrastructure platforms, you will be there—on-site, in the lab, and at the factory floor—ensuring that manufacturing processes remain repeatable, controlled, and optimized for scale.

You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Design Engineers, Quality Engineers, and external partners to define arenaflex's infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures that the diverse components of our global infrastructure fit together seamlessly, keeping our systems humming along smoothly to deliver a flawless experience to billions of users worldwide.

The Opportunity: Senior Product Engineer – Manufacturing & Supply Chain

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Product Engineer to join our dynamic Manufacturing Operations team. This is a full-time, remote-eligible position based in Sunnyvale, USA, offering an exceptional opportunity to work at the intersection of hardware engineering, supply chain management, and product development. If you are passionate about driving manufacturing excellence, solving complex technical challenges, and shaping the future of technology infrastructure, this role is for you.

In this role, you will travel to work directly alongside our suppliers and partners while providing remote support for pre-production builds. You will be a key contributor in ensuring that our product designs are manufacturable at scale, our supply chains are resilient, and our products meet the rigorous quality and reliability standards that arenaflex is known for.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design for Excellence (DFX) Leadership: Lead cross-functional reviews between Design Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to drive critical deliverables related to DFX and test strategy. Champion best practices that ensure our products are designed for manufacturability, testability, and reliability from the earliest stages of product development.
  • Manufacturing Line Readiness: Ensure factory readiness for new product introductions, support manufacturing line bring-up activities, deliver comprehensive product training, and gather actionable feedback on build issues. Manage the bill of materials (BOM) heap and drive yield gap analysis to continuously improve product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Risk Management & Mitigation: Partner with the Product team to identify, highlight, and assess risks throughout the product lifecycle. Develop robust mitigation plans that proactively address potential supply chain, manufacturing, and quality challenges before they impact production schedules.
  • Quality & Reliability Assurance: Collaborate with Quality Engineers to establish product quality and reliability targets. Validate product capability plans, support reliability testing initiatives, and review test results to ensure product performance consistently meets or exceeds specified requirements.
  • Product Data Management: Coordinate the release of New Product Introduction (NPI) Bills of Materials (BOMs) into the Product Data Management (PDM) system. Support second-source component qualification efforts and manage the release of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs) with precision and accountability.
  • Supplier & Partner Engagement: Work directly with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers to ensure alignment on manufacturing requirements, timelines, and quality standards. Travel to supplier sites as needed to provide hands-on support for pre-production builds and resolve technical issues in real-time.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, shorten cycle times, and enhance product quality. Leverage data-driven analysis to drive informed decision-making across the manufacturing operations function.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a closely related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience in hardware manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Industry Experience: A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working within an organization developing supply chains for manufacturing and testing complex electronic assemblies.
  • Partner Ecosystem Experience: Demonstrated experience collaborating with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), contract manufacturers, and component suppliers for data center server-class products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced experience working with Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs), Contract Manufacturers (CMs), and component suppliers specifically for data center-class server accelerator products such as GPUs, FPGAs, or ASICs.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing comprehensive design validation test plans for complex electronic assemblies, with a focus on reliability and performance verification.
  • Deep understanding of ASIC Design for Test (DFT) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test processes, including hands-on experience with post-silicon validation methodologies.
  • Strong technical skills in writing SQL queries and scripting in Python or Bash to automate data analysis, reporting, and process optimization tasks.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments where engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams converge to deliver high-volume production.

Skills and Competencies for Success

  • Technical Acumen: Deep understanding of hardware design, manufacturing processes, and supply chain dynamics. Ability to read and interpret complex schematics, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong data analysis skills with the ability to perform yield gap analysis, root cause investigations, and process optimization using quantitative methods.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences including engineers, managers, and external partners.
  • Collaboration: A natural collaborator who thrives in cross-functional team environments and can build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners alike.
  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A proactive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges, with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions under pressure.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to travel up to 5 days per week to supplier locations, including international travel to Guadalajara, Mexico, as business needs require.
