Position Overview

The Literacy/Numeracy Tutor role is a seasonal, contract‑based position that will conclude at the end of the 2022‑23 academic year. This role is based in Chatfield, MN, and focuses on delivering Tier II interventions within the Structured Reading and Balanced Instruction (SRBI) framework. You will work directly with elementary students, providing individualized support that accelerates progress toward literacy and numeracy benchmarks while closely monitoring student data to inform instructional decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement SRBI Tier II interventions for both literacy and numeracy, aligning with district‑wide instructional goals.
• Conduct systematic progress monitoring using validated assessment tools to track student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and school administrators to design and refine intervention plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of student performance, intervention fidelity, and data‑driven recommendations.
• Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group tutoring sessions that are engaging, culturally responsive, and tailored to each learner’s needs.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Elementary Education, Literacy Studies, Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Certification (Preferred): Current teaching certificate (state‑authorized) is highly desirable and qualifies you for the higher hourly rate.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience working with elementary‑age students, preferably in a tutoring, intervention, or classroom support capacity.

Compensation & Benefits

arenaflex offers a competitive hourly wage that reflects your educational background and certification status:

• Base Rate: $20.00 per hour for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree.
• Enhanced Rate: $22.00 per hour for candidates who also possess a current teaching certificate.
