Job Description

Role Purpose We are seeking a motivated Network Engineer with 6-10 years’ experience to support, design, maintain, implement, and optimise network infrastructure across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Network Operations & SupportConfigure, monitor, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure. Provide 2nd/3rd line support for network incidents, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs. Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or vendors as needed. Network Performance & MonitoringMonitor LAN, WAN, and VPN connections using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, or Wireshark). Analyse traffic patterns, troubleshoot latency or packet loss, and ensure optimal performance. Maintain logs, metrics, and performance reports for capacity planning. Security & ComplianceImplement and maintain security controls such as firewalls, intrusion prevention, and VPNs. Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Support vulnerability assessments and remediation of network-related risks. Implementation & UpgradesAssist in the rollout of new networking solutions and infrastructure upgrades. Support migrations to hybrid/cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, OCI). Participate in change management activities, including planning, testing, and documentation. Documentation & CollaborationMaintain accurate network diagrams, configuration records, and SOPs. Collaborate with global infrastructure, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Provide knowledge sharing and guidance to junior engineers and support teams.

Qualifications

Essential experience & skills 6-10 years’ hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, administration and support. Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, VPN). Experience configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, or Fortinet). Exposure to wireless technologies (Wi-Fi controllers, access points) and network security principles. Proficiency with network monitoring and diagnostic tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG, Nagios, ITRS, etc.). Ability to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex connectivity issues under pressure. Familiarity with hybrid networking (on-premises + public cloud integration: AWS, Azure, OCI). Knowledge of network security practices (firewall rules, VPN configuration, IPS/IDS). Knowledge of SD-WAN and network segmentation. Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills in a global delivery model. Certifications (highly desirable) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). CompTIA Network+ or CompTIA Security+. Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCIP). Fortinet Security Administrator or equivalent firewall certification. AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty or Azure Network Engineer Associate for hybrid/cloud environments. ITIL Foundation Certification (advantageous for working within IT service management frameworks). Additional Information Why Version 1?
