Role purpose This role ensures data integrity, insight generation, and operational assurance across Global Operations. It manages and analyses large datasets to support accurate reporting, issue resolution, and process optimisation. The role drives data-led improvements by identifying patterns, automating processes, and ensuring governance standards, while working closely with cross-functional teams to translate data into actionable insights that enhance decision-making, efficiency, and customer experience. Role accountabilities Service Delivery Provides data and reporting to support Global Operations in meeting KPIs across Exams and Teaching sessions Manages end-to-end results reconciliation across systems, ensuring accuracy and consistency Works with DEP and supports Operations Delivery Managers and Marking Hubs in identifying and resolving discrepancies Ensures alignment between Mark Manager and IWAS, and maintains up-to-date processes and documentation Continuous Improvement Identifies and resolves inefficiencies in reconciliation and reporting to improve accuracy and speed Collaborates with DEP, D&T, and Product teams to automate processes and streamline workflows Uses performance data to drive optimisation and process redesign across operations Supports implementation of new tools and shares best practices to strengthen global data capability Customers & Stakeholders Builds strong relationships with Operations, suppliers, and Cambridge Provides data insights to ROSM to support performance and identify areas for operational improvement, focusing on automation and scalability Integrates customer experience insights into operational solutions Risk & Compliance Ensures compliance with data governance, privacy, and audit standards Identifies and mitigates data and compliance risks Maintains documentation and ensures system/data alignment Analysis & Reporting Uses data to drive process improvements and operational efficiency Ensures accurate reporting and supports decision-making Monitors SLA performance and manages escalations Leadership & Management Manages and prioritises team workload Coaches and develops team capability Contributes to wider operational strategy Qualifications and Work Experience Education: Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience Language Requirement: The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required Work Experience EssentialsDemonstrable ability to deliver results in a pressured environment Demonstrable experience of working with data in minimum one of the following contexts: data mining, data transformation, data visualisation Demonstrable evidence in leading projects with timely and successful completion Demonstrable experience of delivering reports through Business Objects or Power BI or equivalent Significant evidence of managing contract performance against agreed KPIS – for both providers and internal delivery partners Demonstrable experience of data reconciliation DesirablesExperience of Business improvement, process re-engineering and change management Knowledge and understanding of Exams or Teaching business Management of Onscreen tests through to delivery Knowledge of SQL and/or Python Important information: Contract type: Indefinite British Council Pay Band: Grade 8/E Working location: UK - This role is open to candidates based in all UK locations Right to work: You must have the legal right to work in the stated location.
