Senior Manager, Sub-Category Manager

A Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Senior Manager, Sub Category Manager at MKS Inc., you will partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Supply Chain, and key internal business units to develop and execute global sub category strategies, ensure world class supplier performance, and manage risk across the supply chain. In this role, you will report to the Director, Global Category Management. You Will Make an Impact By:

• Leading and developing a team of Supplier Managers to ensure strong tactical execution while building strategic capability, succession planning, and future leadership strength
• Owning and driving global sub category strategy across 100% of spend, including supplier strategy, commercial negotiations, cost performance, and risk management
• Holding accountability for overall supply chain performance, ensuring strong supplier execution, operational continuity, and rapid issue resolution
• Identifying, assessing, and mitigating supply chain risks and clearly communicating mitigation plans to key stakeholders
• Overseeing supplier performance management including escalations, corrective actions, quarterly business reviews, and long term supplier development initiatives
• Analyzing market trends, cost drivers, and new supply sources to shape long term supply strategies aligned to business and product roadmaps
• Travel Requirements: Up to 30% travel is required

Skills You Bring: •Bachelor’s Degree equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. •10+ years of related experience

• Proven experience leading global or regional supply chain or commodity teams
• Strong background in supplier performance management, commercial negotiations, and cost management
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute category or sub category strategies
• Experience working cross functionally with Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing
• Experience managing globally distributed suppliers and spend
• Background in manufacturing, engineered products, or complex supply

Preferred Skills:

• CPIM and/or APICS certification

Supervisory Scope:

• Reporting Relationships: Direct management of Supplier Managers within assigned subcategory
• Financial Responsibilities: Ownership of subcategory spend, cost performance, and commercial outcomes

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

• Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
• Must be able to exchange accurate information
• Ability to observe documents and details at close range within a few feet of the observer
• Operates in a professional office and or manufacturing environment
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Noise level in the work environment is usually average
