Why This Co‑op Matters

As a member of the arenaflex Cargo Safety, Security & Compliance team, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of our worldwide cargo operations. This is a full‑time, three‑semester co‑op that offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced environment where safety, security, and regulatory compliance intersect with innovative logistics solutions. You will work side‑by‑side with seasoned professionals, contribute to high‑impact projects, and develop a deep understanding of the aviation supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and enhancement of safety, security, and compliance initiatives across arenaflex Cargo.
  • Propose and implement continuous‑improvement ideas to streamline processing, tracking, and reporting.
  • Apply project‑management best practices to plan, execute, and monitor cross‑functional initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed records in databases, develop performance metrics, and analyze results to drive data‑informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with multiple business units—including Field Operations, Logistics, Digital Transformation, and Safety—to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Provide internal consulting and process‑engineering support to improve efficiency, productivity, and overall performance.
  • Participate in data‑collection efforts for projects that impact various departments, translating raw data into actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance both internal and external customer service while evaluating safety and compliance implications of operational changes.

Team Areas You Will Support

  • Cargo Safety: Manage the Cargo Safety Management System (SMS), conduct injury and damage investigations, support OSHA initiatives, ergonomics programs, employee reporting, emergency response, and safety recognition.
  • Cargo Compliance (Regulatory): Develop policies and procedures for global cargo operations, craft risk‑based audit standards, and ensure arenaflex exceeds industry compliance expectations.
  • Cargo Compliance (Security): Oversee cargo acceptance and screening compliance with TSA regulations, maintain the arenaflex Cargo Security Manual, support screener training, and investigate compliance failures.
  • Policy & Procedure: Engage stakeholders to keep cargo policies current, understandable, and aligned with regulatory requirements, and support implementation and revision processes.
  • Pharmaceuticals: Implement and maintain a Quality Management System (QMS) for pharmaceutical and specialty cargo, ensuring the highest standards of safety and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Need to Succeed)

  • Full‑time enrollment in a 4‑year undergraduate program at an accredited university for the duration of the co‑op.
  • Eligibility to work onsite at the arenaflex Atlanta, GA office for three alternating semesters: Spring 2026, Fall 2026, and Summer 2027.
  • Major or concentration in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation/Aeronautics, Occupational Health & Safety, Aviation Safety, Information Systems, or a closely related field.
  • Strong project‑management aptitude with the ability to juggle multiple tasks, meet strict deadlines, and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, problem‑solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Self‑motivation, openness to learning new tools and processes, and a collaborative, team‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, work independently, and act as a proactive self‑starter.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and general administrative competencies such as scheduling, meeting logistics, note‑taking, and follow‑up.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Commitment to safety and security for self, teammates, and data.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as project needs dictate.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications (What Will Give You a Competitive Edge)

  • Demonstrated passion for aviation, cargo logistics, or safety and security operations.
  • Specialization or coursework focused on aviation, supply chain, cargo handling, or security management.
  • Experience with Quality Control or Quality Management Systems (QMS) in a regulated environment.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills, including the ability to craft executive‑level presentations and decks.
  • Strong Excel capabilities, especially with large data sets, pivot tables, and complex formulas.
  • Familiarity with airline or cargo operations, including knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Previous project‑management experience, whether through academic projects, internships, or extracurricular leadership roles.
  • Comfort presenting to senior leaders and large audiences, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
