Remote Lead Civil Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join their completely remote engineering team. This position is central to planning, designing, and overseeing the execution of critical civil infrastructure projects across various sectors, including transportation, water resources, and land development. You will be responsible for leading project teams, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective infrastructure solutions. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, design codes, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include managing project scope, budget, and schedule from inception to completion. You will conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and detailed design analyses for projects such as highways, bridges, drainage systems, and utility networks. The Lead Engineer will be responsible for preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Collaboration with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to ensure project success will be a crucial part of the role. Experience with public infrastructure projects and a strong understanding of permitting processes are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. We are looking for an individual with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil infrastructure design and project management is mandatory. Proven experience in leading design teams and managing large-scale infrastructure projects is essential. Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bentley products) and project management tools is necessary. The ability to thrive in a remote work environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, proactivity, and effective virtual communication, is critical.
