Freelance 2D Animator Needed for Fantasy Graphic Novel Promo Trailer + Short Scenes Hi! I’m an indie creator currently developing a fantasy graphic novel inspired by Lord of the Rings, Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Frieren. I’m looking for a talented freelance animator to help bring parts of the world to life through promotional animation content for social media, Kickstarter marketing, and future audience building. This is a passion project with long-term potential, so I’m looking for someone collaborative, creative, and excited about fantasy storytelling and cinematic visuals. Project Scope I’m currently looking for: 1 Promotional Trailer Approx. 45–60 seconds Atmospheric fantasy tone Cinematic editing and transitions Mix of action, magic, emotional moments, and world-building visuals Intended for TikTok, Kickstarter, and social media promotion AND/OR 3 Short Animated Scenes Short fantasy clips (5–15 seconds each) Examples: Elves using elemental magic Fantasy mounts riding through environments Tournament/combat moments Cinematic character closeups These may be used individually for teasers and marketing Art & Animation Style Looking for a style inspired by: Avatar: The Last Airbender (expressive character movement/emotion) Frieren (fantasy atmosphere and tone) Anime/fantasy-inspired motion and effects The world includes: Elven kingdoms Spirit mounts Elemental magic Tournament arcs Fantasy landscapes and relics What I Can Provide Character references/designs Worldbuilding references Story summaries and scene direction Moodboards and visual inspiration Scripted scene concepts Existing branding/social media presence Character designs currently in production and/or already completed Source files for character assets when needed for animation workflow What I’m Looking For Experience with 2D animation, motion graphics, or anime-inspired fantasy animation Strong understanding of cinematic pacing and visual storytelling Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate creatively Bonus if you enjoy fantasy, anime, or graphic novels Deliverables Please include: Portfolio/reel Estimated pricing: Cost for full trailer Cost per short animated scene Estimated turnaround time Software/tools used Notes This is an indie project currently in development, so budget matters, but I’m serious about building this long-term and want to create something visually memorable. I’m also already building a growing fan base and community around the project through TikTok and live content, so these animations will play an important role in audience engagement and promotion. If things go well, there’s potential for future ongoing work as the graphic novel expands.
