Job Summary Proofreader - REMOTE, Eastern Time Zone Shift: Monday to Friday 12 pm - 4 pm or 1 pm - 5 pm (Must be located in the Eastern time zone) Full-time, Contract Remote | Lexington, KY, United States The Opportunity This part-time remote role will focus on reviewing and collecting documents. You will work on formatting, correcting spelling and grammar of any errors.
Responsibilities
- Proofread and edit content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to brand voice and style guidelines across materials.
- Identify and correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and typographical errors promptly.
- Meet daily/weekly targets for turnaround times and error-free content.
- Perform final quality checks on deliverables before publisher submission.
- Enter proofreading results and statistics into a centralized tracking system.
- Collaborate with content creators to clarify ambiguities and suggest improvements.
- Prioritize tasks based on project scope and urgency using defined pipelines.
- Remain updated on industry terminology and style updates to ensure current standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data protection policies.
- Suggest process improvements to streamline proofreading workflows.
- Support cross-functional teams (marketing, product, content) when needed.
Experience/Qualifications
- 2+ years of proofreading experience
- Proofread documents comparing typesetting, nuance, syntax, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
- Ensure that revisions and corrections are completed and submitted to clients or colleagues
- Good computer skills, including MS Word and Adobe
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated growth mindset and readiness to advance within the company.
