Experienced Ocean Product Development Specialist – Strategic Growth and Carrier Management

Job Summary:

As an Ocean Product Development Specialist at arenaflex, you'll play a critical role in supporting the growth of ocean volumes and enhancing the development of our ocean product. You'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations to implement strategies that increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and supporting carrier service issues. You'll also serve as an ocean subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to sales and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement strategies to increase ocean volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality

  • Collaborate with the MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations to communicate direction and deliverables
  • Analyze carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and support carrier service issues
  • Serve as an ocean subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to sales and operations teams
  • Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement
  • Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with global trade lane team, sales and operations to communicate direction and deliverables
  • Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded
  • Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required
  • Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product
  • Support sales and operations as needed
  • Manage annual budget; control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis in order to achieve budget targets
  • Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product

Essential Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing
  • Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits:

As a Colorado resident, you'll be eligible for an annual salary ranging from $57,836.00 to $131,686.00, depending on your specific skills, work location, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. Our compensation package includes:
