Job Description

Are you a passionate and innovative Game Developer with a flair for creative design and a knack for seamless remote collaboration? Sizwe Africa IT Group is seeking a talented individual to join our forward-thinking team. In this pivotal remote role, you will be instrumental in conceptualizing, designing, and implementing engaging interactive experiences, from casual games to immersive simulations. You'll work on the full development lifecycle, translating creative visions into functional and captivating game mechanics and user interfaces. This isn't just about coding; it's about being an architect of fun and engagement, bringing imaginative worlds and compelling narratives to life. As a Game Developer focused on Creative Design, you will leverage your expertise in modern game engines and programming languages to craft visually stunning and technically robust applications. Your ability to think critically, solve complex technical challenges, and maintain a high standard of code quality will be essential. Given the remote nature of this position, strong self-discipline, excellent time management, and proactive communication skills are paramount. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team of designers, artists, and other developers, ensuring smooth integration of assets and features. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement core game mechanics, systems, and features.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code using industry best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with remote artists, designers, and other developers to integrate assets and functionalities.
  • Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle, from concept to deployment and post-launch support.
  • Debug, profile, and optimize games for performance, scalability, and stability across target platforms.
  • Actively contribute to creative brainstorming sessions, providing innovative ideas for game design and user experience.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in game development.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in C# or C++ programming languages.
  • Extensive experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles, user experience (UX), and user interface (UI) development.
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proven track record of strong remote communication and collaboration skills.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing previous game projects or interactive applications (personal or professional).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with mobile game development (iOS/Android) and platform-specific optimizations.
  • Knowledge of backend game services, APIs, and database integration.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, animation, or visual effects tools.
  • Experience with augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) development.
