DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES Client is seeking the services of one (1) Database Administrator 3 (hereafter referred to as "Candidate") to provide advanced database administration support. The selected Candidate must meet the general qualifications of a Database Administrator Level 3 and demonstrate expertise in enterprise database environments, particularly DB2 platforms. All work products developed under this engagement shall be considered "works made for hire" and will remain the sole property of the Texas Department of Public Safety. The Candidate will be subject to pre-selection screening, including criminal background checks in accordance with Texas state regulations. DPS will not cover any expenses related to interviews or the selection process. II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- dminister, monitor, and maintain DB2 database environments
- Ensure database availability, performance, and integrity
- Perform database tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
- Manage DB2 licensing and Passport Advantage compliance
- Support database operations on AIX/UNIX/Linux platforms
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with application teams, system administrators, and stakeholders
- Perform database backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
- Document database configurations, standards, and procedures
