🎯 The Role

As a Senior Data Engineer (Azure), you will work at the intersection of data engineering, backend services, and cloud platforms, helping build scalable data foundations that enable analytics, integrations, and data‑driven decision‑making.

You will join a collaborative, cross‑functional team working in an agile environment, contributing end‑to‑end to modern data platforms and integration solutions across the Azure ecosystem.

📍 Job location: Remote (Europe‑based)🕒 Contract type: Contractor🗓 Target start date: ASAP⏰ Working hours: Full-time💵 Compensation: Daily rate €250 – €350

💥 Your Impact

In this role, you will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend services on Azure

  • Build and optimize data products and data platforms using modern lakehouse architectures

  • Develop and maintain APIs and integrations to connect internal and external systems

  • Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines and services

  • Work with structured and unstructured data to support analytics and downstream systems

  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, and deployment processes

  • Collaborate in a cross-functional Agile team, taking shared ownership of deliverables

  • Continuously improve solutions, standards, and team practices

👤 What We’re Looking For

Must-haves

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

  • Strong experience with Python and object-oriented programming

  • Solid experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., ADLS, ADF, Synapse, or similar services)

  • Hands-on experience with Databricks (Notebooks, Delta Lake)

  • Strong SQL skills for data processing and validation

  • Experience building and maintaining APIs and backend services (REST, event-driven)

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Must be based in Europe

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data modeling and data architecture

  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems

  • Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Unity Catalog)

  • Exposure to AI/ML data preparation or data-driven platforms

  • Experience with JSON and API-based data ingestion

  • Experience with Kubernetes / containerized environments is a plus

  • Top of the rangeYou are a reference for the role, mentor others, and raise the bar for the team.

Final offers are based on experience, autonomy, scope, and market context, and are discussed transparently during the process.
