Generator Service Technician - Northern Virginia (Field-Based)
Overview
A national power solutions company is expanding its presence in Northern Virginia and hiring a Generator Service Technician to support commercial and industrial clients throughout the region.
Compensation
- $28-$34/hour + overtime (~10 hours/week typical)
- Take-home service vehicle

The Role This is a field-based position covering the Northern Virginia / DC metro area. Technicians operate from home and travel to customer sites daily, supporting critical backup power infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair generator systems (5kW-4000kW)
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
- Complete service reports and documentation
- Provide strong customer-facing service
What They're Looking For
- Mechanical and/or electrical repair experience
- Diesel engine or generator exposure preferred
- Ability to work independently in a field environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license
Nice to Have
- Generator or heavy equipment experience
- Electrical certifications
