Remote Senior Game Designer, Mobile Strategy Titles
Our client, a globally recognized leader in interactive entertainment and a pioneer in the mobile gaming space, is seeking an exceptional Senior Game Designer to contribute to their critically acclaimed strategy titles. This is a fully remote position, allowing top talent from anywhere in the US to join our passionate and innovative team. The Senior Game Designer will be instrumental in shaping the core gameplay mechanics, systems, and player experience of our flagship mobile strategy games. You will collaborate with a world-class team of artists, engineers, and producers to deliver engaging and compelling gameplay that captivates millions of players worldwide. Key responsibilities include designing, documenting, and iterating on core game systems, player progression, economy balancing, and combat mechanics. You will create detailed game design documents (GDDs) and wireframes, clearly articulating design vision and functionality. A significant part of your role will involve prototyping and playtesting game features, gathering feedback, and making data-informed design decisions. You will work closely with engineers to ensure faithful implementation of designs and collaborate with artists to define the visual and thematic elements of the game. Continuous analysis of player data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and drive design iterations will be crucial. Mentoring junior designers and contributing to the overall design vision and quality bar of the game will also be expected. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in game design, with a strong focus on mobile strategy or similar complex genres, is required. Proven experience in designing and shipping successful mobile titles is essential. Demonstrated expertise in creating engaging core loops, complex systems, and balanced game economies is mandatory. Strong proficiency in game design documentation tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira) and a deep understanding of player psychology and motivation are necessary. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are vital for this remote role. A passion for mobile gaming and a portfolio showcasing exceptional game design work are highly valued.
