Responsibilities
- Verify and assess the credentials of healthcare providers to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Conduct thorough background checks to identify potential risks affecting patient safety
- Review requested privileges by healthcare providers, comparing them to education and training
- Monitor expiration dates of licenses and certifications, facilitating updates as needed
- Serve as a point of contact for credentialing inquiries and assist in report preparation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or equivalent experience
- Valid National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) Certification as a Certified Professional Medical Services Manager (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Credentials Specialist (CPCS) within two years of hire
- Experience in medical credentialing, healthcare administration, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting or medical staff services
- Familiarity with accreditation and regulatory requirements in healthcare
- Proficient in credentialing databases and management software
