GCP DevOps Engineer

Job Description:

About You As a DevOps Engineer focused on GCP, you build and optimize cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and automation solutions, ensuring reliable and scalable systems. You are proactive, challenge processes, and continuously improve efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams. You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  •  Bilingual proficiency (English and Spanish).
  •  5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
  •  Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including architecture and deployment of cloud-native solutions.
  •  Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration in production environments.
  •  Strong proficiency with Docker for containerization.
  •  Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  •  Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Jenkins.
  •  Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar) for automation.
  •  Experience implementing monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, GCP Monitoring).
  •  Knowledge of cloud networking, security, and IAM best practices in GCP.
  •  Experience working with distributed systems and microservices architectures.
  •  Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex cloud environments.
  •  Experience designing reusable templates and scalable infrastructure solutions.
  •  Familiarity with multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  •  Experience with configuration and deployment tools such as Argo CD is a plus.
  •  Advanced English proficiency, working with distributed teams and stakeholders.

You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions in GCP.
  •  Build, optimize, and manage CI/CD pipelines for application deployments.
  •  Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  •  Containerize applications and manage deployments using Kubernetes and Docker.
  •  Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
  •  Collaborate with development teams to streamline deployment processes and improve delivery speed.
  •  Automate repetitive tasks and operational processes through scripting and tooling.
  •  Ensure security best practices are applied across cloud infrastructure and pipelines.
  •  Troubleshoot and resolve issues across environments, ensuring minimal downtime.
  •  Design reusable infrastructure templates and deployment standards for multiple teams.
  •  Continuously optimize cloud costs, performance, and scalability.
  •  Support and guide teams in adopting DevOps best practices and cloud-native solutions.
  •  Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
  •  Stay up to date with DevOps, Kubernetes, and GCP trends and emerging technologies.
  •  Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, reliable product delivery.
Qualifications:
  •  5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • Experience working with GCP, Kubernetes and Docker.
