Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Jewish Family and Children's Service of Minnesota is a multi-faceted human services agency dedicated to providing essential services to people of all ages and backgrounds. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will support strategic initiatives across major communications functions, collaborating with senior marketing professionals to enhance the agency's public image and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and regularly update agency Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages with guidance from staff
  • Contribute to the development and scheduling of content aligned with agency campaigns and initiatives
  • Track engagement metrics and assist in preparing summary reports
  • Draft, edit, and format newsletters, blog posts, email campaigns, internal communications, and marketing collateral
  • Coordinate aspects of production, including layout, proofreading, and vendor communication as needed
  • Assist with website content updates, blog posts and calendar entries
  • Support formatting and distribution of e-newsletters and other electronic communications
  • Monitor basic analytics and support reporting efforts
  • Create flyers, invitations, graphics, and PowerPoint presentations
  • Support light photography and organization of digital media assets
  • Edit basic video content and assist with multimedia projects as assigned
  • Provides communications support for agency programs, events and fundraising campaigns
  • Prepare signage, nametags, and other on-site materials to support event logistics
  • Act as a communications support resource to JFCS staff, under supervision
  • Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions

Skills

  • Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations, graphic design, nonprofit management or related field
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and basic design tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with staff and vendors and ensure work is error-free and completed within deadlines

  • Actively contributes to the agency community by participating in committees, workgroups, or other collaborative efforts that support agency goals and foster a positive work environment
  • Punctual and reliable attendance
  • Previous internship, volunteer, campus leadership or related experience in communications, marketing, design, writing, or social media
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, email marketing platforms, photography, or video editing software
