Junior Water Resources Engineer

EHS Support is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior-level Water Resources Engineer to join our dynamic Remediation Engineering team. In this role, you will work on a diverse range of water resources projects across the United States; including stormwater modeling and design, surface-water hydraulic modeling, contaminant fate and transport studies, and NPDES permitting support.  

This position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of technical applications within the Water Resources sector. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in the development and analysis of hydrologic, hydraulic, and hydrodynamic models. 
  • Research and analyze environmental information, including stream gage, weather, and oceanographic data, to support model development and decision-making. 
  • Conduct field investigations and data collection for water resource projects. 
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering plans, and presentations. 
  • Support the design and implementation of stormwater management systems, remedial designs, and other engineering projects.  
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success. 
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. 
  • 0-2 years of experience in water resources engineering or a related discipline. 
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling methods and software (e.g., TR-55, HEC-RAS, SWMM). 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with AutoCAD or other design software. 
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal water resource regulations. 
  • Previous employment, internship, or co-op experience in water resources or environmental consulting.
