[Remote] Software Development Engineer in Test Intern (TikTok-Privacy and Security-Business Risk Integrated Control)- 2026 Summer (BS/MS)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TikTok is a leading destination for short-form mobile video, and they are seeking an intern for their Privacy team. The role involves assisting in the development and optimization of privacy protection and data security platforms while contributing to the productization of privacy solutions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and optimization of the privacy protection and data security platform
• Contribute to the productization of privacy solutions, including algorithms, security toolkits, and workflows, aimed at mitigating security risks
• Research cutting-edge privacy solutions and technologies, exploring how they can help address existing privacy challenges
• Support the ongoing evolution of the architecture by contributing ideas and performing small-scale implementations

Skills

• Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., C++, Java, Golang) with a basic understanding of its ecosystem
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
• Basic familiarity with classic mainstream databases (e.g., MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, HBase, Hive) and messaging systems such as Kafka or RocketMQ
• Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
• Able to commit to working for 12 weeks during Summer 2026
• Currently pursuing an Undergraduate/Master in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• As a condition of employment, all successful candidates must be able to establish authorization to work in the United States. For this position, the Company does not provide sponsorship or any immigration-related benefits
• Graduating December 2026 onwards with the intent to return to degree program after the completion of the internship
• Familiarity with microservice architecture is a plus, but not required
• Any experience or coursework in data tagging, access control, code lineage tracing, or data governance is a bonus
