Substation Physical Drafter 2 - Grid
Sargent & Lundy is a company that offers a hybrid work environment and is seeking a Substation Physical Drafter 2 to join their multi-disciplined team. The role involves utilizing drafting skills to prepare design drawings, assisting experienced designers, and interfacing with vendors and contractors to explain drawings and make design adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Utilize and expand your drafting skills
- Prepare design drawings based on design input
- Apply computer-aided drafting skills
- Receive hands-on training in 3D design software environments
- Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities
- Assist experienced designers on walkdowns at client facilities
- Explain your drawings to vendors and construction contractors
Skills
- An Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience
- Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD and/or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances
- Ability to multi-task from project to project
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer
- An Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design
- Familiarity with Bentley Substation Design
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate various equipment to a technical design
- Experience in Physical and P&C design work
- Experience in 3D design work
