About the Role:

As a Senior Billing Specialist, you will be the primary point of contact for all billing-related inquiries. Your responsibilities will include billing and processing charges, researching outstanding billing items, generating invoices, preparing itemized invoices, and reviewing and validating refunds. You will also support vendor operations and consistently provide feedback to the management team regarding any inaccuracies to solve problems and improve processes.

Collaboration with internal departments will be essential to ensure the timely handling and resolution of cases. Additionally, you will assist our sales team in an operational capacity to close sales and generate quotes. This role requires a thorough understanding of the Quote-to-Cash process, enabling you to troubleshoot any issues that may arise.

Motive is looking for an ambitious individual with strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy to join our focused and motivated team.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the billing status of accounts by researching and resolving any inconsistencies and errors in billing.
  • Analyze billing documents and other data for accuracy and completeness, acquiring any missing or corrected data when necessary.
  • Create and customize invoices as needed.
  • Review and validate credits and refunds, issue refunds, and address payment disputes and chargebacks.
  • Evaluate the billing process and recommend improvements where applicable.
  • Ensure proper cutoff periods for month-end closing procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for billing-related support cases.

- Provide accurate and timely reports.

  • Support vendor operations and address any related concerns.
  • Assist with issues related to enterprise billing and prepare customized billing according to requirements.
  • Generate reports based on specified needs.
  • Collaborate closely with other functional teams to ensure data quality and consistency.
  • Be comfortable working with spreadsheets, internet applications, and ERP systems.
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of data while entering it into various electronic systems.
  • Expertise with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

What We're Looking For:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a billing or billing-related role
  • Independent self-starter who can adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- High attention to detail

  • Ability to work well in ambiguous situations, solve problems, and think on your feet

- Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Zuora is a plus

- Expertise in Salesforce.com is a plus

  • A Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in accounting or finance is preferred
