Field Service Technician – Puerto Rico

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Field Service Technician to join our team based in Puerto Rico. This role is available due to internal development of our existing team. Your new role:

As a Field Service Technician, you will support our customers by performing installations, periodic maintenance, repair, and modification of equipment at their facilities which are located within your assigned territory. The territory for this role is Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. You will be responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems to attain designated product performance metrics and ensure customer satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Schedule and perform periodic maintenance, installation, repair, and modification of equipment within assigned areas of responsibility. Being responsible for maintaining all equipment and systems to attain designated product performance metrics.
  • Maintain all records in accordance with regulatory requirements. This includes following the defined Complaint Handling Procedures relative to complaint identification, documentation, resolution, and escalation.
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing all assigned company assets that may include but are not limited to tools, parts inventory, company vehicle, computer & accessories.
  • Conducting technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors and company representatives as needed.
  • Supports sSales partners efforts to attain business objectives.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • Professional degree: Associate Degree or BS degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics / Mechanics, Biomed or related field. Alternatively, demonstrable equivalent experience in the position or similar responsibilities can be considered (Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Field Service Technician).
  • Advanced English language skills are essential; with Spanish language skills desirable.
  • The ability to build effective relationships
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, but also collaborate effectively as part of a team to ensure Customer Excellence.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Results and performance driven
  • Technical and professional knowledge of OpCo systems and solutions
  • Able to travel for up to 50% of the time; once a month to the Caribbean.
